West Windsor could be seeing more residential development near the Princeton Junction train station.
The Planning Board is considering a mixed-use proposal for 33 Princeton-Hightstown Road that would add 26 residential units while upgrading the existing commercial property.
What stands out to me most is the location.
This property sits near the Princeton Junction train station, which makes it an important area when we talk about future development in West Windsor. Adding housing closer to transit can give residents easier access to the train, restaurants, businesses, and jobs while concentrating growth in an already active part of town.
This proposal also raises a larger question I think West Windsor residents should be paying attention to: how much development should happen around the train station, and what should that development look like?
Projects like this can have an impact on housing, traffic, walkability, local businesses, and the overall character of the area.
